Junk People Have Won

One of the things that makes Densa what it is can be described as "childish". Specifically, the tendency to place action before thought. This isn't always the case, of course, but when it does some spectacular things can happen. (They rarely do, but they CAN. The possibility definitely exists.) For some reason, every time this happens, we end up with a contest of some sort going on. So, here's where the winners of said contests will appear. Also, ongoing contests will have their own space here, too. Woo!

Densa 2008 6-Month Calendar
Design Contest

Here's an example of the kind of thing you should never say on the Densa forums: "I need a calendar for the office." We didn't have as many entries as I had hoped for, but we did get 8 entries, so there will be some voting. Yay! The Mohawk Multi-K Post Pool

MohawkBlackfoot is far and away our most active member. Recently she hit the 2,000 post milestone, which is twice what the next most active member has managed in the same time frame. Some discussion was generated when she crossed this line, the result of which is this betting pool. Winners for 3K and 4K are "closest day". The Over/Under will be judged at the stroke of noon on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Since the minimum bet is the same as the maximum bet and both are $0.00 (rounded to the nearest dollar,) there will be no tie-breakers. Everyone who fulfills the requirements for winning will have their names posted here.

Name: 3,000 posts 4,000 posts Over/Under
(5,500 posts
by 4/18/09)
CyborgGoddess 7/31/08 12/25/08 Over
jukidokaMAA 8/24/08 4/1/09 Under
Thus I Atone 9/5/08 2/18/09 Under
dmarli 9/20/08 12/28/08 Over

Mohawk Multi-K Update: With the site reboot in late summer '08, we had to reboot this contest. Mohawk's post count at that time was 2,711, so nobody wins the Total Count bets. MAA and T both win the over/under, but mathematical projection shows 5,500 happening sometime in the last quarter of '09, which means MAA and T still both win, but MAA, with the most pessimistic guess, wins more. Yay, MAA!

Technically, we re-started the pool for the new board, but everyone more or less felt that the whole thing had gotten silly, so we only had one guess. That means CyborgGoddess wins it all! Woohoo, CG!
